IN THE RAIN, when the often-fired Walt (Shameik Moore) works as a bartender and shoe repairman at the local AlleyCatz bowling alley, he feels like he’s finally found a home. When AlleyCatz faces financial problems, Walt is forced by former bowler and current champion drinker Skunk (D’Arcy Carden) to embrace his role as the greatest bowler the world has ever seen. While Walt’s love of big checks and in-your-face style of play dominates the pro tour, his detractors, including ratings-obsessed Angelo Powers and recently retired bowling legend Linda “The Crusher” Curson (Susan Sarandon), furiously try to extinguish Walt’s flame before it burns too brightly.
