An American (English) remake of the French series HPI (2021)
Tale
Follow Morgan, a single mother of three, and how her extraordinary mind allows her to help solve a crime while organizing evidence while working as a cleaner at the police station. Despite her extremely high IQ, excellent memory, and deep knowledge of the mystery, Morgan makes a series of basic mistakes in the law that anyone who has ever watched a TV legal show would never have guessed. In the first episode, for example, he retrieves a document from a locked safe in the suspected victim’s law office that would never be admissible in court – illegally obtained evidence. Nor can it be used to obtain other evidence – violating the legal doctrine of “fruit of the poisonous tree.” In Episode 2, he has to be reminded to wear gloves before handling evidence at a crime scene, and in Episode 3, he removes all documented evidence from the police station, completely breaking the chain of custody and making everything he removed inadmissible in court.
A secret superpower, sort of
HPI Remake (2021). I really relate to any show/movie that features someone with a unique ability hidden behind a personality that just doesn’t fit. The main character has exactly that. His life seems to be a bit of a mess, he’s all over the place, but…
He plays it damn well!
he’s crazy smart and notices details that other experienced people miss. I was already a fan of Caitlin, so it’s no surprise that I love her here too. I appreciate that every episode solves a case. I’ve gotten through a series that’s been going on for a season or more.
This will deliver
Just give me a solid story and conclusion in under an hour! Well directed, has some funny lines and is overall just enjoyable to watch. Really looking forward to more episodes. Hope they don’t cancel it after one season like everyone else does these days.
