Barry Keoghan dropped out of Gladijator II (2024) to star in this film. I liked Bird, some very strong performances.
It’s a very musical film and as always, good choices for the soundtrack
The inclusion of frame borders added a nice touch to a very honest telling of the story through naturalistic images. I would say it could be more concise in the editing and in places it feels overly whimsical, but the element of magical realism was an interesting and unexpected development.
Every element of the film felt real and honest
The film felt real from start to finish and the detail in the production design helped a lot with that. My only criticism is that it could have been told in an hour.
But overall, a return to the much-loved Andrea Arnold of old with a new twist
