CIA agent Joe tries to balance her personal and professional life as the tip of the spear in the agency’s war on terror. Real-life military advisors helped craft a more authentic execution of weapons handling, house cleaning, deployment, squad-based activity, etc. It’s sad to see so many one-star reviews from military personnel and others who clearly can’t stand having strong female leads. This is a fictional show, folks.
It’s made for entertainment
It’s not going to get everything about the military exactly right, and it’s clearly not faking it. Do you think Yellowstone is an accurate portrayal of ranch life? Definitely not. Don’t be so easily offended by it.
Saldana is a powerful protagonist, and I’m loving every minute of it
We don’t see ranchers up in arms about the dramatization of their industry. For those offended by the language, violence, and nudity, have you seen Taylor Sheridan’s shows? Lol. While I find the writing around De Oliveria’s character severely flawed, it’s clearly done so they can speed up the show’s preparation.
Is it 100% realistic?
Her character’s relationship with Annable is well-written, and it’s fun to see how two flawed people navigate a very fulfilling relationship with demanding careers. Overall, the characters are likable and well-developed, albeit with some shortcomings from the writers. There’s a great balance of dialogue and action, and some really great fight and chase scenes. Of course not.
It’s great!
