Struggling with his dual identity, failed comedian Arthur Fleck meets the love of his life, Harley Quinn, while incarcerated at Arkham State Hospital. Lady Gaga, Brendan Gleeson and writer-director Todd Phillips talk about what scared them the most about the musical sequel. The subtitle of the film is "Folie a Deux" meaning “Two Madnesses”; in french. This initially led to speculation about Harley Quinn’s appearance in the film, which was soon confirmed.

Joker: Folie à Deux, the sequel that disappoints, Joaquin Phoenix and Lady Gaga give good interpretations, giving life to two tormented and complex characters.
However, the story is full of holes
While the first film won us over with its psychological depth and powerful social criticism, this second chapter struggles to find its own identity. The occasionally fragmented and predictable plot can’t hold a candle to its predecessor. The characters, while interesting, take a backseat to a plot lost in useless digressions. In conclusion, Joker: Folie à Deux is a film that leaves a bad taste in the mouth, often even boring.
Despite the technical merits and excellent performances, the story is weak
A sequel that tempts expectations, with a weak plot and much less emotional impact than the first film. Check out our exciting new films from this year’s film festivals, including Venice, TIFF, New York Film Festival and more.
