In the timeless city of Macondo, seven generations of the Buendía family navigate love, oblivion, and the necessity of their past and destiny. This is Netflix’s most expensive project in Latin America to date, with Colombian groups and indigenous communities creating the props and backdrops for this series. It is a true joy to watch this cinematic Colombian marvel. The film adaptation exceeded my expectations and removed all fears about the potentially disastrous attempt to make such a cold "unfilmable" novel. To my eyes, it seems completely authentic and magical. Bravo to the Colombian creators and the Colombian team for a very attentive, meticulous, and subtle adaptation of one of the most beautiful novels ever written! The cinematography is excellent and very vividly depicts the beauty of Colombia. Costumes, colonial architecture, interior design of buildings and a carefully selected musical portrait combine to create an unforgettable atmosphere of Colombian magic in every detail. "One Hundred Years of Solitude" is one of the biggest TV and broadcast premieres of the month. Find out more in our December calendar!
