When Brett Goldstein, Jason Segel, and Bill Lawrence were asked how they got Harrison Ford on the show, Segel said that Goldstein originally wanted a “Harrison Ford type” and that he was going to audition people similar to Ford. Segel told Goldstein that they had to at least get him to Ford first, thinking he would immediately turn him down, but at least other people would hear that Harrison Ford had been brought in for the project, leading to interest from other notable actors.
The acting was terrific
In the end, Goldstein spoke to Ford and sold him the role. Goldstein still doesn’t understand what he did to convince him, but he was elated nonetheless. Featured on WatchMojo: The 10 Best TV Shows of 2023 (So Far) (2023). This was a solid production and a very unique story.
Is it perfect?
I love how each character embraces their imperfections and shows vulnerability and employs humor to bring about spiritual growth. Shrinking has a ton of heartfelt moments, awkward moments, mildly funny cute moments, and laugh-out-loud moments. I hope they keep making additional seasons of this because the character development warrants it. No.
But none of us are
I think the overuse of profanity takes away from the overall power potential here. It’s almost like the writers were forcibly making the show edgy. Personally, I don’t think it needed to be. That’s why I gave it an 8.
